He was the pathologist who determined its action during the different stages of a society\u2019s life. His approach is not philosophical but historical and sociological. It is in his work the\u00a0<i>\u201cProblem of Ideas\u201d<\/i>\u00a0that we measure the most the universality of his thought which has for fields of study civilizations and human societies, his reference to Islam being only illustrative.
