Abstract
The author wonders about a Bennabi reflection entrusted to his “Notebooks“ on what he called the apocalyptic civilization, the civilization of the end of history, the end of time. Before Francis Fukuyama’s reflection on the same theme, Bennabi had envisioned that Western civilization with the tremendous technology it developed and the terrible atomic weapons it made would prevent the birth of a new civilization. The author shows that this reflection does not belong to Bennabi’s thinking and that it is only an answer to those who refuse to reflect on the decline of the West and that the solution will be the construction of a universal civilization.
