Quranic Phenomenon and Religious Fact

Abstract
This article begins by reminding us that the dechristianization that Western societies experienced, and which was really recorded only at the beginning of the twentieth century, following the compromise of the separation of the state and the churches, was based on the hypothesis that the “religious fact” would be a phenomenon situated within a society and not outside it, has in fact became a paradigm value and has been extended to the other “religions” still alive in the world today. After this, the article presents the first work of Malek Bennabi, namely The Quranic Phenomenon, who, in his study of the Qur’an, rejects this definition of the “religious fact”, at least concerning Islam. Indeed, Bennabi will cite in this work historical information, metaphysical considerations or mere natural phenomena which can not belong to the knowledge of Arab society of the Djahilian era, but outside it.
In conclusion, this article reminds us that, for Bennabi, Muslim decadence is not due to Islam, a phenomenon situated outside Muslim society, but rather for other reasons, such as the one due  “to a Quranic exegesis stuffed with Greek mythology and Israelite alterations “.
Editor’s Note: From there comes the interest of the alTaraqi Center on such studies made on our Ustad Malek Bennabi (Rahimahou Allah): to propose a series of reforms inspired by the Ustad’s work, and thus continue his Mission, very well summed up by the author of this article, namely “to return to Islam all its effectiveness …”, and its leading role in the Progress of our Algerian society, and of other Muslim societies in general.
